There is always some new craze going round about some diet that will get you thin quick. It’s pretty simple, if you are looking for a long term fix then following a ‘dust diet’ is not going to be the way to do it.
I am a big foodie! I love scrolling through blogs or Instagram pages to find different and unusual recipes.
However, that being said, since I graduated and moved back in with the rents I find it hard to get into the kitchen and cook. But when I do I love cooking.
At school I was this gangly twig but naturally over university I gained weight from all my drinking and binge eating. I was never 100% comfortable in my own skin. It’s all very well me talking about not trying the diets but believe me I have tried them, I tried eating no carbs, the 5:2 diet, the Dukan diet, you name it I’ve done it.
In my final year I was so unhappy with the way that I looked that I knew something had to change. And even though I hate to admit it, my boyfriend taught me everything I know.
People think that it’s about diet all the time but it’s not, it’s about changing your lifestyle. I used to have a tiny salad for lunch and then starve myself all day. It made me tired, cranky and I always ended up eating crap because I was so miserable.
My diet now consists of high protein and low carb. I exchanged my apple at breakfast to a healthy portion of porridge and my teeny salad at lunch to a chicken breast with avocado and tomato.
This being said, everyone is different and it’s never easy. I still get terrible cravings but it’s all about balance.
